The SARS‑CoV‑2 Antigen Self Test Nasal is a lateral flow test for the qualitative detection of SARS‑CoV‑2 nucleocapsid antigen in human nasal samples. This test is used to detect antigens of the SARS‑CoV‑2 virus in individuals suspected of having COVID‑19.
It is designed as a self‑test for patients.
At the end of 2019, a novel virus was discovered in a cluster of pneumonia cases. This virus belongs to the large family of Coronaviruses, and has been named SARS CoV 2 because its genetic sequence is closely related to the virus that caused the SARS outbreak in 2013. The disease caused by SARS CoV 2 is called COVID 19 (Corona VIrus Disease 2019). The course of SARS CoV 2 infections can vary widely. Some infected individuals do not have any symptoms, others experience relatively mild symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, or diarrhoea. But it can also cause more serious symptoms such as difficulty in breathing or even death. Usually, it takes 5-6 days for symptoms to develop after an exposure to SARS CoV 2, but sometimes it can take as long as 14 days.

What is the SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Self Test Nasal and what is it used for?
The SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Self Test Nasal is a lateral flow test. It can help to detect antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus from nasal samples in individuals who are suspected of having COVID-19.
What are the advantages of the SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Self Test Nasal?
The test can help you to quickly and easily determine whether you might be infected with SARS-CoV-2 or not. You can test yourself from the comfort of your home and you do not need any specific training as it is easy to perform
How often should I perform an antigen self test?
COVID-19 antigen tests perform best when the viral load is at its highest during an infection. Outside of this window, such as at the start of the infection, or late infection, the test may not detect the virus. Therefore, regular testing (such as every few days) increases the chance of detecting COVID-19. Please refer to NHS and government websites for further guidance on this topic.
Can children perform the test on their own?
No, according to our instructions for use, the test must be performed by an adult or under close adult supervision on children under 18 years of age.
